Officina della Scrittura is the first museum in the world dedicated to the Sign. It is an important project that traces the birth and growth of a remarkable invention: written communication.

An approach to oriental culture through its writing.

In Japan, words have always been painted with the brush, which moves in a ‘musical’ rhythm, composing a drawing. Japanese Calligraphy is an art of movement: gesture, coordination, expression, balance.

A unique opportunity to discover the fascination of an ancient writing tradition and to enjoy a creative and educational experience.

The dance of Fude: brush in Japanese

Opening Times

From Mondays to Friday from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 13.30 to 18, last admission at 17.
Open every last weekend of the month from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 13.30 to 19, last admission at 18.
Booking is required (at least 48h).
The Museo Officina della Scrittura will be closed for the summer break from 4 to 24 August inclusive.
