In Praise of the Hand (FO.TO)

Officina della Scrittura, in its ongoing exploration of the themes of the Sign from an interdisciplinary perspective, is organising its first photographic exhibition: ‘In Praise of the Hand’, with photographs by Sergio Gioberto and Marilena Noro, is dedicated to portraits of hands at work in the Aurora Penne factory.
The occasion is provided by Fo.To – Photographers in Turin, an event that, from 3 May to 29 July, will offer a packed calendar of exhibitions and events linked to the world of photography, networking over 70 city structures.
‘Photography is, literally, ‘writing with light’,’ explains Cesare Verona, CEO and President of Aurora Penne, which just over a year ago inaugurated Officina della Scrittura and has since hosted no less than four art exhibitions, ’and is, perhaps even before being Art, technique, know-how, knowing how to leave a trace: it is exceptional knowledge to be guarded so as not to risk dispersion and oblivion.
A sensibility shared with the Freidano Ecomuseum, an important ‘open’ cultural container, located in the Municipality of Settimo Torinese, which bases its activity on the intertwining of the natural characteristics of the context of reference, its historical events and the infrastructural and technological growth that has taken place in it.
